Recording Gameplay To Video?

What program do you guys suggest to use for capturng video and uploading to, say youtube?

Preferably free and easy to use.

Hmmm...Well, I've always used Hypercam. It seems to work pretty good and it's free. The only problem is that the video might be a bit laggy.

I suggest that you use the program called CamStudio, it's a free program and it records in AVI format making the video quality crystal clear, with close to no lag. :thumb:

ZD Soft Screen Recorder is also good
it captures smoothly if you have enough CPU and RAM spaces
The thing to that is you need it purchased xD
but i think theres a demo version xD

2nd is Hypercam...
Its also must be purchased to record a video without a watermark saying "Unregistered Hypercam"
in your video, But if you dont care recording it with watermarks then go for it... its free xD

Never tried Camstudio though...
Is it better than ZD Soft Screen Recorder and hypercam?

I have only ever used Camtasia...  and I havent tried recording RMXP/VX gameplay or anything, although I am sure it would work.

I used Screen Movie Studio to capture the video I have at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTuuX4qhRng

Works fine for recording RMXP, though it lagged slightly during a scene with many events, and also has a watermark if you're using the shareware version. I might try others for my next video, though that was satisfactory.

gamecam and/or fraps both work good, they will put a watermark in the corner in the free versions.  Fraps is pretty much the standard amongst gamers.

The other recorders have problems with frame skips, or they insert watermarks, or they only do limited recordings. Camstudio is 100% free, can do any resolution (downscaling if need be, only doing a window if need be), doesn't watermark, it's small and easy to use, and captures flawlessly. I love it.
