Reason 4.0 - Propellerheads

Recently downloaded this awesome software called Reason by Propellerheads, it's a music sequencer/synthesizer etc etc, awesome stuff! Been messing around with it but it's quite complex and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I was wondering if anyone else has discovered this software and if they have any tips or info about it they can divulge! Just thought I'd share this nugget with you lot ;).

Just so you know the website for this software is http://www.propellerheads.se/

so you're looking for help with using the application effectively, or what? i really can't see what the purpose of this thread is, so maybe you'll have to explain. @_@

btw i like reason's synths, but the lack of an ability to add sound samples in a practical manner turned me off right away and sent me back to FL.

What's FL? Ahh Cubasis yeah I remember that, good software as well.

I've had reason for a while now, as well as some refills that I bought. I personally like the program, although I don't use it as much as I should. Anyway, here's an example of two RMXP songs I did with it:

005-Boss01.mp3
007-Boss03.mp3

I think they turned out quite well, considering how I was doing when I started with the program.

Those are really cool, nice job! I've been messing around with it but I usually end up just creating some sort of techno or hardcore sound it's cool to know you can make stuff like that with it hehe.

Reason is better than FL Studio when it comes to the quality of the sounds IMO. But the interface for FL Studio is far more intuitive and user friendly than the Reason Rack. I don't know which one I truly like better yet. I've only been using Reason for about two weeks, and it's been fun learning how to use it.

yes, out of the box, reason towers over FL. there's no contesting that. it also has the 'mod wheel' thing going for it. however, if you're trying to make anything with ANY live instruments in the mix, it becomes a huge hassle to use. :\

it is a really cool app tho.

Reason can't use VST plugins... so i like Fl Studio more.
maybe gonna get Cubase for 64 bit support so i can use my 8 gb ram...

That's the problem I've been facing. I often record solo guitar instrumental pieces and add in and mix together some ambient sounds with it. Reason has proved vastly inferior for VST support and I've migrated to a mix of both and the use of Audition for some recording.
