Reaper Template

[brainstorm]

While playing around with anatomy and perspective, I made a little template. I probably wont use. I'm trying to find a style for my game tho. An Original one.

I call it reaper because my game is about the grim reaper.

No eyes... but it works. I really need someone in test it in their game. To see if the animation works.... I just put it together. I didn't see if it was tiled right...

Theyre nice but they keep reminding me of a monkey for some odd reason. Mayeb the face.

ooo... Some [INSERT RACE HERE] just got dissed. But Whatever. I did it from scratch in mSpaint. I didn't expect it to be perfect, i guess. Hey can someone fix the pallete for me? I see what you mean about the arm in another template I saw it didn't have an arm in that frame so I decided to do it with mean. I see why it doesn't look right though. The Monkey problem is the Head shape and the eyes... The Chubby look. The Laying down might be because he looks like he's looking UPWARD...

I didn't blame MSPAINT... did I? MSPAINT is awesome. I just said that I'm better at picking colors in Photoshop and easier to navigate. MSpaint is actually better than photoshop at spriting.


PS. By scratch I meant that I've never gotten the human body right when I did something for scratch. I know it's still not right but That really makes me feel good. ^_^

it's always hard to judge a template without seeing any actual clothed and haired ones. Could you make an example?

The charset looks better but maybe take the top part of the head in the first row off. The little part on top thats jutting out so it looks more rounded.

I like the template, but the avatar guy kind of rubs me the wrong way.

Somebody should cloth him to see how he looks all dressed up. :thumb:

That's a good idea. I'll try to dress him up. I looks like his face is drooping... The reason his arm is in that position is because... just imagine him leaning on a big weapon somehow.

he has a rectangular crotch what the hell that's gota hurt in bed. But with a face like that I guess he doesn't have to worry.

It looks alot better xlothed but he still looks so sad.

Very very very good!

There are a lot of things you can work with here, the walking template has a lot of potential if you make different versions, same for the half body. You can easily change the facial expressions, try different poses for both female and male! I would love to try them out!

I'll try changing this guys facial expression.

RMXP or most of the resources for it are at a 45 degree downward angle. Yours seems to do th opposite . It looks like a camera is pointing down and looking up.

I feel that you need to work on your human anatomy a bit. If the arms are that long can the legs truly be that short?
