Im glad you fixed those random outlines ^^ now they look better don't they?RealCheater0190":u7jwfduw said:but you should fix that random outline colors it should fit the text styles
example is the Mixtape one the first mixtape which is the mixtape blue is somewhat green-like to me
i dont know if im just color blind or it is really green-looking
but the inner style and the outline fits
on the 2nd one though the tooty frooty one
you should change the outline color that will fit the style
Oh maybe it looks better but i was looking for some crazier outlines^^
And I mean they don't look bad do they?
EDIT:I can write an Tutorial too if you want^^
PS.:Look at the other styles and try some too so you will learn it yourself

Until the website decided to say no and not post it up, so I won't be writing that tutorial again ^^;
Good stuff though, however I really don't like how bland the colors are in most of the style packs, then again I've always been known for making saturated logos, I just prefer a lot of color over a darker more drab feel than most.

Because they look better then flat or gradient colors? It's not really a fad then of a preference.
I understand why you may find them in distaste to an artist to use them. However, I actually end up customizing most pieces I make to fit with the piece at hand, I actually often ask the creator to elaborate more on what their wanting out of a request. At the same time, the style packs (which do take some effort to make and make good) are just there as a visual basis to start from, then elaborate more once the piece is started, however if a requester really wants it in a style pack i will find a way to suit the style pack to their request. It isn't a simple write text, slap on the effect, and move on, if that were the case, most of my work would look horrible, instead I do take time to tailor requests to suit the requester needs.missingno":tteh0ryq said:Tassadar":tteh0ryq said:Missigno, I might be not in a position to tell you this, but weren't we supposed to give constructive criticism and not post things like: this is suxxors? I didn't say "this is suxxors". In fact I have never said that and never will.
My post was constructive criticism. Allow me to elaborate for those of you unable to read between the lines.
The whole "style packs" bullshit proves that people with these sort of request stations only want their egos stroked and don't give a shit about the artistic value or improving their own abilities. In a good request station, the artist is using it to better him or herelf as well as contribute to other people. Style packs (ie. fonts with layer effects in photoshop, neither of which the 'artist' created) works against this idea, since simply applying a style pack to some text isn't really doing anything special at all. If someone wanted to really create someting good for a game, the text would be INDIVIDUALLY STYLED to match the feel and tone of the game, rather than made from a choice of COOL-LOOKING preset effects.
It's an un fortunate fad that makes me look down on the people who open these kind of stations (it makes it seem like these people don't give a shit about their actual art and only want to see their names on as many games as they can) and at the same time it makes me feel bad for the people who get suckered into it.

You're clearly missing what it is that i'm criticizing here.

Just because people jump on a bandwagon (like breeze), doesn't mean you need to point a finger and make up an excuse why you dislike it. I don't want my ego stroked, lmao that is the stupidest thing I've heard today, if I wanted that I'd just go show my friends who have no artistic values and concepts my art and listen to the compliments come in.
C'mon, maybe I'm being self centered, but hey, at least I am stating I don't care what people think about my work, good or bad. All compliments and critique can do is help me improve, I'd rather someone tell me what is wrong so I can fix it.
And to inform you, you do need some sort of experience using photoshop to make something that looks good, just because people "abuse" a niche they find in the program to make stuff and use the term "style pack" doesn't make their art any worse or any better than the next, some people may do it better while others may do it worse.
Hanzo was the first person I saw make the style packs, then I decided to open a wide variety of artwork and added my own style packs for people to choose from and make it easier on my self when creating things such as logos or backgrounds for title screens and such, since then i've seen simply logo stations that do style packs, just to jump on a bandwagon it feels like. I'm not saying they are bad or better than anyone elses, I guess people just like doing them once they can figure out how to make them. It does take a lot more talent to make an effective logo design than just a style pack, anyone with a basic education in graphic design can tell you that, the logo has to flow a certain way for it to be effective, especially if you use it towards a billboard where thousands of people will see it from the road driving and just might be interested in it.
I second that...oh no nvm I guess I THIRD that...Xaixis":3jxfq2qy said:Axerax":3jxfq2qy said:I'm like hanzo, not in this for competition only for the sake of getting better for my self.
