Rate my two Naramura Sprites

I don't come on here much, but hello to all the ones who know me :P

I like the first one better than the second one ...what do you guys think? You can rate them out of 10 just tell me why you rated them at what level.

Must admit that these are rather nice. It doesn't show very well though that they're women. I'll let someone else give a better opinion, but I like them and I know lots of people will enjoy these and actually nééd these.

The shapes are good, but there needs to be way more contrast in the palettes. The first one has too many light tones which make it look washed out, and the second lost the definition in her hood.

After I opened these in an image editor to check them closer, I see distinct pillow shading on the 2nd.

Keep going, you'll get it!

I hate to sound like an idiot, but what does pillow shaded mean 0____0...I tried your link...but it doesn't work?
Also, how do I fix this "washed out" stuff you speak of in the first sprite. Add a darker outline to the lighter parts of the sprite? lol I'm not very bright in the sprite terms, I just sprite until I do what I think looks good...:P
^____^ so if someone can explain how to fix those things it would be very appreciated...THANKIES :D

@XCQSHN: I use photoshop, but I don't use it to its full capabilities...I only basically use the layering and the hue saturation tool...and the pencil tool of course :P.

oh well, I had funns making it, so that's all that matters ^___^
besides, his sandals actually look like sandals XD
