INTRODUCTION
Hi hi! This a solo project created by myself, in order to learn the ropes of RMXP, so that I can help my fiance with Ghost Shards: Requiem. :)

STORY
With the annual great pixie festival arising, a young pixie known as Raspberry is to delve into a most perilous; yet crucial situation. Tasked with the righteous job of retrieving the golden apple, you will soon find yourself in the dark, forbidden Shadow Wildwood.

GAMEPLAY
As a young pixie, you cannot fight and thus must avoid the enemies on the screen. You get four hearts, and when you lose them all, it's game over. The only way to heal is by touching save points, shaped like lamps.

OUR HEROINE
RaspberryArt.png

The youngest of her sisters, Raspberry is clumsy, often bumping into other objects. She is full of curiosity of the outside word, and has a lot of imagination.

SCREENSHOTS

KNOWN ISSUES
*Pixie NPCs do not say anything
*Monsters are easily avoidable (the fix is a mystery)
*Clipping issues
*It says *blank* tree, as I haven't decided what to call it yet. XD
*The titlescreen/game over screens suck. Lols.

Awesome Bro

This sounds very interesting and it seems you've got quite far with it, provided you didn't start it too long ago that is, lol. I'll check out the demo... ish in a while and tell you what I think :thumb:

Nope, this game has no battle system - it was all evented (except for the monsters that rush you).

They rush you, but very slowly. I think I have a fix for them, though. ^^

Thanks for the interest. :>

Well, it wasn't much of a demo, but I did enjoy what was there, I really like the mapping and layout of everything, and there isn't much I can say bad about it, except on one of the big trees (I think it's the second map before the end of the demo, or maybe it was the last map, whichever has a big tree on...) doesn't have a proper shadow, it's been cut off on the bottom and left side, but maybe that's because you've got something occupying the tiles around it.

How long have you been working on this by the way?

It's this if i remember correctly: http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=4367.0

As for the game so far (writing as i play). I really like the music. The atmosphere is cute too. I don't know if you are working on an intro or not, but now the game just... started. Your mapping is unique. It's pretty good, but i miss some things. It feels a bit bland at times. Maybe that's because i dislike the rtp grass tile. Maybe you can use mine, just to see how it looks? (you'll have to edit it out of my tileset though, it's all over here: http://www.gmaker.org/resources/view.asp?id=295).

There are some spelling mistakes when the bird takes the apple. I think this game is perfect for heaps of minigames integrated in the gameplay :)

Thanks for playing, Jay Jay!

Yeah, it's very early in stages, though the main point of me posting a demo was to see if I should continue this game.

I'm open to suggestions of ideas, by the way.

I'll fix that ASAP.

@gRaViJa
That's the script I'm using.

The monsters rush at you, but they don't go very fast. I tried to up the speeds, but I was killed instantly. Though I may know how to fix that. :>

Hmm, i use that script too, but it works just fine. The enemies move at 4.25 speed (and changing that number works when i try it, so they don't move slowly. Did you increase their moving frequency? :p) and the hero runs at 4.60 speed or something and it's just the perfect balance.

Thanks for playing.

Yeahhhhh, I should make an intro. Lols.

Glad you like the music - a lot people do. XD

This was my first time mapping forests and exteriors. D=

I'll use your grass and see what happens - also I'll work on the rushing thing, too. ^^

Demo link is down.

I wanted to see how you set up avoiding monsters on the maps. Not to point out the obvious, but the character can fly. So what is stopping her from flying over everything? I know, that's like asking why Mario doesn't just walk around turtles. But in the screenshots I see a fence, stairs, a log to cross water; and I'm like "She has wings" does she really need a log to cross water?
I had a similar issue when I tried making an underwater rpg. The characters could swim so unless they were in a cave they could just pass over everything. Stairs were pointless; mazes and cliffs logically shouldn't obstruct the player. Traditional conventions like putting a treasure chest out of reach don't don't work well in open water.

Ummmmmmmmm, maybe she can't fly very high? She is young. XD

I haven't really worked on this in awhile. Several things are kind of stopping me.

1. How to make the game not turn boring.

Maybe I'll make her a cute sprite where she can't fly. o.o

I do have a slightly updated version of the game I can upload - but it's on my computer (this is Star's laptop).

Avoiding monsters was hard, and it still needs a lot of work.

Thanks for any interest.

You should definitely work that into the gameplay some how. Like a gauge under the hearts that decreases while she's flying and when its empty she is too tired to fly or out of pixie dust or whatever.
