Ragnarok Online Style Lancer

Heres the deal,

My brother is really into RO. So into it infact he's making up his on class ideas. Not just names, but skill trees, builds, and even sprites. Thats where I come in. Hes asked me to make sprites for all the classes he's making. The first one was Lancer. So, I give you V.1 of my RO lancer.

I'd appreciate some comments.

No, it will, concidering it's one of those armgaurds that's not fully attached and stays in the direction of his lower arm.

So your trying to match the Ro style? if so... then your out of luck for crits from me... only seen like 3 ro sprites... and that has been spread out through the course of a year or so... From my point of view having no idea really what an Ro sprite looks like, the sprite looks fine. although there are a few little line errors... let me go in and curcle those for ya.

spot 1: Useless out-dent, (In-dent reversed?) if there was going to be a screw there or something it would make sense to have that space, but not in its current state.

spot 2: Might be wrong, but shouldnt the shoulder blade overlap the chest place and not vice a versa?

spot 3: I understand your point in your earlier spat about the armguard. But if you really want his arm to bend, then you should make the blue outline extend downwards instead of that gray outline.

spot 4: Looks to me like its becoming part of the cape, might just want to continue the outline up a little bit.

happy?

k, the entire right side of his body looks pretty good, but you didnt bring up the outline on his blue cape thing in front of him... might just be personal preferance though... also, the shoulder pad is looking better? but needs a darker outline when overlapping to not be awkward looking.

Indeed amazing... I wonder if you're going to do a complete set with it, as RO sprites require 72 frames for the default and even more frames for the battle animations. Well, you made one mistake, though: ROs doesn't use that much colors in their palettes as you do...

Yes they do bluescope. The metal palette is ripped straight from the Lord Knight sprite, and the blue palette has less colours than it.

Hm, looking at a scaled-up version of the sprite, you're right... but the reason why I got this wrong was because you sometimes didn't use that 'cell shading'-similar style of RO and shaded the thing 'better'... weird explained, but RO spriting just isn't 'good'... ^_^
