Quick Fog Transition Question...

Hey everyone, small problem with fogs when switching between maps, namely that the fogs don't transition at all.

I've got autorun events that set the map fog settings on each map, but when it transitions from one map to another there's a 1 second delay before the fog shows up. With lots of small maps and a lot of transitions this is very annoying to see the fog layer disappear and reappear constantly.

I know I could simply set the tileset's default fog to avoid the delay, but then I'd have to make a different tileset for every fog setting I use. There's got to be a better way than making 5 different copies of the same tileset in the database for 5 different fogs.

Does anyone know if there's a way around this delay to display fogs? Be it an event method or script. Thanks.
 
i suggest tinting the screen to 0-0-0 when you transfer maps, then tinting back to normal with the autorun at the beginning of every map. This way everything that happens in the split second of the map isn't shown, whether it's for a cutscene where the player disappears or for your fog to start up again. You can have it go for just 5 frames each if you don't want it to take so long.
