Question about Self Switches

I was wondering about those self switches. When creating an event that is a treasure chest or a door in VX (the quick style), it uses the Self Switch A. I searched the help file for self switches and learned, that each switch does something different. But they don't act like ordinary switches.

Now, the only self switch I know the function of, is the Self Switch A. If you switch it on in an event that is a chest or door (or something along that), it declares that event as "open". But... what about the rest. What's with the other self switches? What do they do?

It's there if you want to have more than one self-switch used per event. For example:

"So, hero, what do you think of me?"
- You're cute. - Self Switch A turned on.
- You're annoying. - Self Switch B turned on.
- You're an idiot like Sakura. - Self Switch C turned on.

You can then have a conditional branch to make that event say something different, depending on how you answered the original question.

There's a lot more to it than just that of course, but that is one example of what you can do with more than one self switch.

All it means is you can do different things with them. The only difference is that you can't change self-switch settings remotely.

Well, you actually can. It's a very short, very simple script. You might want to search for it.
