question about mobos

I'm running a computer I built myself with an Intel P4 3.4Ghz, a GeForce 8 series card with 512MB of V-RAM, A Soundblaster Audigy card, 1Gig of RAM and Windows XP Media Center. I recently acquired a second Gigabyte of RAM and would like to put it in, but unfortunately have filled up all the slots on my mobo. That being said, I do have another mobo with 4 slots that's built more for hardcore gaming anyways (which is what I use my system for, aside from programming.) I've never tried anything like this before so I wouldn't know, but would it be possible to uninstall the drivers for my current mobo, switch everything over, and using windows' plug-n'-play install the drivers for the other so that I don't have to reformat and lose my data. I know I could put lots of things on a disk, but some of my games take a while to install (like FFXI, PSU, and especially WoW.) So I don't want to have to spend most of my afternoon tomorrow re-installing games. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends. Mainboards aren't all compatible with your processor. Make sure that it's the right make (AMD/Intel) and the right socket. After you know that it will work that way, go ahead an remove your Mainboard drivers.
