Pyromancer (WIP)

I don't think it's that bad. Alot better than I would have done lol. I would like to see it as a full set of course.

And Pyromancer's rock!

The hair is too semetrical since it appears to be either spikey or messy. And the colors, particularly the shading on the blue coat, are indeed bright.

That's all I can say other than good job!

The shading on his arms is inverted. It should be lighter away from the body and towards the top, darker lower down and towards the body.

Desaturate your palette by a little bit. It will make it look more professional and less in-your-face colors. Your shading looks kinda weird, too, mostly on the cloak.

I also reccomend changing the colors of your underclothing completely. A nice bluish-purple or grey would do it well.

personally, its way too bright, usually i go for the darker style...
the spriting is good, i just dont like the colors... ^^;

It is exceptionally Blue .. :s

But the problem i think lies more in your lack of value range. All the colors are very similar in Value (Light and dark if you are unfamiliar with art terms. some people are apparently) If you want a tip, try dumping a copy of it into photoshop and de-saturating the colors to gray-scale. You'll notice that in gray scale, there's little difference between your greens and blues. Darken your outlines allot and divide up the values in your pallet a little more. Smooth gradients are -not- your friends in spiriting :thumb:

I'd suggest using more contrasting colors too. Green and Blue are too similar to each other I feel.

The Hair looks decent, but again is not complimented by the choice of clothing colors.

pretty much my thoughts exactly... the moment i saw it i though damn, man. thats alot of the one colour but then i noticed that there was both green and blue... kinda a visual trick.. nice idea... but yes, different colours would be in order

looks nice but the shading is weird.
its wrong unless the light source is his own belly...

allso, make the colours a little darker. that should look much better.

I don't think it's all that bad, and I think that people are going a little crazy about the coloring. Not every piece of clothing is dark. I have tons of bright clothing, including bright blues, and if you look at the RTP, they do have some weird shading patterns, especially in the shirt region.

I think the green on the inside is the only part that should be darkened, or changed to a different color, since you can't really see it against the bright blue, but I do like the bright blue. I like the hair as it is. I suppose to appease the others concerns about light source, you could take the next shade of dark blue and add some of that to the right most side of the coat.
