I think we can become more "in tune" with our surroundings, but that's really nothing more than the physical act of picking up vibrations, scents, sounds, etc. more keenly.

I WISH there was actually magic and telepathy in the world. It'd be a much less boring place. But anything can be B.S.'ed. Especially recorded on TV. But just because that illusionist isn't ACTUALLY levitating, it's still fun to see how well he's able to trick you, right?

alexanderpas, what does Derren Brown have to do with any of this? I'm a fan of his, I've seen a lot of his shows, but he doesn't claim to contact the dead or any of that bullshit. Just like Criss Angel, they use science and psychology to perform their tricks and they admit to it- it's entirely irrelevant to the topic.

Admittedly, a little magic here and there would spruce things up, but look on the other side of the medal: can you imagine the kind of war we'd have with magic? It's bad enough with science already.

I think illusionists are amazing and entertaining, especially some of the more famous ones. Take Houdini for example. Psychics have no talent whatsoever, there is no effort involved. It is effortless bs that is being forced down our throats whilst looking for something decent to watch on TV late at night. :P

It's actually an incredibly hard talent.  You have to be able to read people, and you have to be able to bullshit with the best of them and turn every mistake you make into gold.  If it were so easy that anyone could do it, we wouldn't be here asking for scripts for an engine, we'd have the money to pay someone for our engines entirely.

Knowing what to say can be extremely difficult.  If not, then you are the only person in the world whose ever opened their mouth and never once swallowed their foot on it.  You can easily be one of the richest people in the world, what are you doing hanging around here.  (Not so much aimed at samboy, just the general "oh my god that's so easy" thought itself)

What it boils down to is peoples particular self belief system. What some may think is just plain taking advantage and stealing money, is different in the eyes of the believer.

I personally do not believe in it but if said believer pays money for 'contact with the dead' and walks away satisfied with the results, who are we to question it?

In my personal opinion, belief is what makes life tolerable and if someone wishes to believe they have talked to their dead relative or such and it makes their life a little more for the better, than it is harmless.

Whatever you do though, don't try to talk about it to someone who believes it if you dont. They end up shouting at you lol =x

That thing about the energy fields we all emit being amplified is interesting...I don't think it's a good idea to have a belief in psychics but I'm not going to say it's impossible becuase I just don't know for sure, we only use a tiny portion of our brains right? some people could use more.

Has anyone seen the "Ghost hunters" ep. where they go to some old dude's house and he says he is a psychic and he reads both of the guys and they were recording with a thermal camera and it like flips out and then a big glob of "Heat" went from the dude getting told what happend in his past to the psychic and once it touched the man, he moved his hand downward , thru the "Heat" and it goes back to the guy real quick and then tells the guy what happend in his life. How he got into hunting ghosts.

Ghost hunters aren't fake. They tell you if you have "Paranormal Activities" in your house and sometimes they say that there is a "Ghost" in your house aswell, if it is that haunted...But you guys need to see it, it might be on you tube.
