Project Alice

Hay you guys, crafters and craftesses.

I'm working on this little game title (working title "Project Alice" for now), haven't made much of it public yet.
But there's some devent content and gameplay to experience by now so I thought, I might as well share it to get some early feedback. It's just a fun, personal side-project and somewhat an experiment for me.

It is some kind of adventure game, losely based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland".

At this point I can offer a gameplay demo to anyone who's interested - but it's by no means finished yet. Therefore, I write down a to-do list and list of known bugs and glitches.
Yes, you can cause the game ( more precisely the graphics ) to glitch when you do certain stuff under certain conditions, I'm painfully aware of that. ^^ But since there is no scripting involved, only eventing, I have not found any solutions to fix those that are still in the demo.
The good news: The glitches can be fooled around with on purpose - or avoided, depending on how you play. ^^;

Story:

After following a white school-pet rabbit, Alicia finds herself in a strange place of weird oddness. She should go, find the rabbit, and return to her daily life - but that seems more easily said than done. After all, the strange and curious world she discovered seems to absorb her more and more.

Stuff to do:

- Title Screen
- Opening scene
- Sound and event refinement of certain scenes
- 4 or 5 more Areas until finished
- Ending scene
- Credits
- The map with the caterpillar (last playable map in this version) is only semi-finished so.. don't worry if things go wrong.

Known glitsches: ( only look if you want to test them on purpose ^^; )

- if you move and at the same time press the attack button, it will result in a sprite animaton glitch. it may even make your character temporary invisible ;p THAT is why you should stand still before pressing the action / attack button.

- if you press the action / attack button while certain scenes are running, it might result in a sprite glitch. :p SO - please don't spam action button while those events happen.

I recently re-discovered Alice in Wonderland and the many cinematic versions there exist of this story - I really like the story and was kinda drawn to it, so much, that I wanted to try making a short game of it! ^^

If you play it, please let me know how long it took you to end the demo. : )
 
Whoops, you are right Erichermit. Hadn't thought of that.

I put together some screens but it's nuthin' special. There are not too many maps playable in the game so far.
Anyway, please enjoy.

This game as ypu see, has a huge custom HUD. ^^

Before you ask, the main reason for this HUD is, to make the screen a little smaller - because: We simply needed a smaller game screen. So that's that - it worked very well. ^^
 
Yes I played it and it ended when I get in the litle hole :3
I liked the work made for the animations and become Big or Tiny but I didn't understand what the mouse wanted x) (She only say HEY DONT CHEAT).

yes, the mouse says that more than once, I hope it's not too annoying. : )
on that map you have to race her tho - I hope that was working / understandable.
