Problem With Tileset

Alright, I don't know if any of you have had this problem before, but me and my friend have been stuck on this forever and have tried every logical solution to fix this.

I'm using Inquisitors Exterior Tileset. My issue is that i was making a copy of a bridge so i had multiple of the same tiles so i could set the passabilities different for each one. When I exported the map and loaded it onto paint, the entire background of the tileset changed from white to black. I tried filling it in white again but it put white specs in all the little pixels in all the little places in between the tiles as well, so it wasnt a viable option. I can't use it if the background is all black because when I import it back into the game it has black all around it when I place it on the map. I have tried re downloading it straight from the website and everything and its always black from the moment i unzip it now. At first I thought it was a glitch with my computer, so i sent my game to my laptop and it was black there too. Me and my friend are working on the game, and his versions tileset became black after I sent him mine. So you might be thinking: maybe theres something wrong with my game file? Well I tried creating an entirely new game but the problem remains. I am simply at a loss and have no idea how to fix this. The only alternative I have to fixing this, is to somehow make my game work with only one bridge tileset. But if you look in the following picture I put in a link, you will see my issue.

If I only have one bridge / mountain side tileset, I can only use them in 'one situation'. For example if I want my character to be able to walk under the bridge, or walk over it, I would have to have the passabilities set to two different things. Or theres some concept I dont understand about how that works. So I either need to figure out this black background problem, or I need to learn how to work with those bridges in different scenario's. Also for the mountains... If a ladder or a bridge is overlapping a mountain, and I want my guy to be able to go down the ladder, 'behind' the bridge, and all of that, how can i have the passability set to two different things at once? It just doesnt make sense to me.

If anyone truly knows how to help me out, I would REALLY appreciate it, because I am beyond stuck... Thanks a bunch!

The problem is, MS Paint doesn't support transparency. If you want to edit a tileset, you'll need to download a different image-editing program first. Try Graphics Gale, Paint.NET, or GIMP (do a Google search).

A different way to solve the bridge problem, though, is to event the bridge or use the "Always on Top" function. There are a couple of bridge tutorials, try a forum search and you should get some helpful results.
