Problem with rgss player

the game wont load when i press playtest it only brings up a black screen and will not load the game. This is a very frusterating issue

just so everyone knows, the game and rpg maker xp are BOTH in compatibilty mode for windows xp sp2 and ran as administrator

Can you run it normaly, from Game.exe? Can you run other RMXP games?

Have you added any script?
Do you have DirectX properly installed?
An antivirus program can be blocking Game.exe?

yeah my rmxp wont install at all its annoying rmvx will but not rmxp or rmxp-rts. they the legal versions to i dont know why it wont install

No i cannot run it from game.exe
I have not added any script at all
yes DirectX is installed properly
This may be possible, but my norton virus subsription had expired so how would i check to see if anything is blocking it?

Normaly antivirus have an option for disabling protection for some time. I haven't used norton for ages, so I don't know how you can do so. I know that for example Comodo antivirus blocks Game.exe all the time, it is really annoying, but it shows up a message for unblocking it. Maybe norton tries to scan Game.exe in real time, and that's the cause it won't load as norton slows it down.

Also, do you are using a good RGSS102E.dll? From a legal RMXP copy? If you are using a japanese one, it may be conflicting.
