Prob a stupid question but people say 1 thing then sum say another..

when using scripts in games and it says NOT for commercial use, what
do they actually mean?

that if you use it you cannot release your game to the public

or

you can release to the public but not charge for your game?

or both..

lol sry, blonde moments and i'm asking cos im using the triple triad script
and it says on the not recommended to use for commercial games unless
you want to be sued by squareenix/soft.

can sum1 pls tell me exactly what commercial means for releasing rpg maker
games..

It means you CAN release it to public, but you aren't allowed to charge for your game, it can only be freeware, hope that helps!
