This thread is for posting a few songs that you feel best describe the breadth and/or depth of your musical taste. I picked seven because I thought five was too limited but wanted it short enough for people to actually listen to. Try to link to streams or Youtube so people can listen, and describe the songs a bit (genre at least).
I listen mostly to electronic these days, with bits of metal and classical and rock mixed in. There's not a lot of music I actively hate, and I'll like pretty much anything if it's done well, but most of the stuff I really love is experimental in some fashion, so there's a lot of IDM, avant-garde metal, and post-rock in my collection. (wow that sounds kind of pretentious but whatever)

Kettel - "Kroost Kids"
I would say this is a typical Peri song. This is IDM of the chill variety.

Wisp - "Negions Fail"
Another IDM song. I don't know what a negion is, but I like this song!

Squarepusher - "Coopers World"
Drum 'n' bass.

Agalloch - "Limbs"
Doom metal, although I've also heard their work described as folk metal and avant-garde. I love Agalloch's music because it sounds like the frigid moors of Norway (I was very surprised when I learned they're from Oregon). This song is long, so bear with the long intro.

Ephel Duath - "The Passage"
I guess I would describe Ephel Duath as...avant-garde metal? Jazz fusion? Something like that.

Explosions in the Sky - "Your Hand in Mine"
Post-rock.

The first movement of a violin concerto by Dvorak. When I listen to classical, it's usually the more modern Russian composers like Dvorak, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, etc. I find their stuff to be I guess darker and more engaging than the kind of fluffy froofroo of Mozart and his ilk.
