Pokemon Crystal was the best game. Ruby/Saphire lost the essence of pokemon. My fave pokemon is eather Suicune or Charizard or maybe Typholotion. I still remember my first pokemon. I got Yellow for my birthday. I... I'm still a pokemon fan, but the newer ones are getting worse and worse. Pokemon isn't about the story, it's about the catching and training of pokemon...

And Arcanine seems like a lion to me.

I like the newer games, personally, but that's largely 'cause I like exploring new areas (not to mention that they tend to tweak inconvenient aspects like the PC system)... though I still like G/S/C.

You know what. I'd kinda like if it WASN'T Optional to catch certain pokemon. Like event pokemon. If you don't catch it it's game over like Pokemon ranger. I know about trainer battles are just like that but they get annoying when they pop out of nowhere. And it amazes me that Really large pokemon like onix can hide in tall grass and not be visible.

One of the greatest thing about the pokemon games is because of its open-endedness.

Seriously, I found it hilarious that people were complaining about Jynx's appearance being racist.

I used to watch the anime when I was little, though lost interest once they started bringing more pokemon in than the original 150(1).

I kept that opinion on the games, I didn't play either the second or third generations of games when they came out.

Though that all recently changed. I'd been hired to help work on a pokemon-related site and decided to play the new games to catch up on the franchise. I re-played Pokemon Red (which I originally had) and got a copy of Crystal. I played it through and quite enjoyed it. Watch me beat the elite four if you like =p

Then I got Emerald and I just finished it recently. Pretty different from the first two but I thought it was good.

That whole Jynx being racial thing, I think people just go out of their way to look for these things, like Pikachu being a message against sexual abuse since he can't even put his hands together, if they want racist, why don't they complain about the Mario Brothers? They're the most famous italian stereotypes in the world! Personally, I think they're just funny (the Mario Bros, not Jynx or the people who notice this sort of thing, they both kind of scare me) but someone will waste their time taking offense to it, people have to understand life is too short to nitpick this sort of thing. Besides, how often does ANYONE come across Jynx in any Pokemon game? In the whole series what, two trainers use it? You can't even catch it without trading in-game, unless you can in the Blackthorn Ice Path, haven't been there in forever, so I can't really remember.

UPDATE: THAT RANDOMLY HATCHING EGG (not Togepi) CAN BECOME SMOOCHUM, AND WHAT DOES THAT EVOLVE INTO, EVERYONE?

wait what. jynx is pretty obviously COMPLETE BLACKFACE-INSPIRED. big lips, big eyes, jet black skin. now i am not sure if you know what blackface is, but saying "I think people just go out of their way to look for these things" is pretty dumb considering there are pretty glaring similarities between PICANINNY FREEZE and PSYCHIC ICE POKEMON. also ganguro is pretty much openly derivative of blackface so yeah. also

Johto was the Best. Those Birds really got on my nerves but the Dogs were awesome... I hope the Dogs are event battles tho like The Suicune in Crystal...(I think)

Yeah, Nintendo never would have let that happen, need I remind you what they have done to the older Final Fantasies and changing "Holy" in Chrono Trigger to "Lightning" to avoid offending people. Jeez, some people. You guys are like people who look at "Blue Eyes White Dragon" from Yu-Gi-Oh! and think "That's Aryan-based Racism!" (if it was, it'd be "Blonde Hair Blue Eyes White Dragon") all I'm saying is, don't nitpick at these sort of things, jeez, do you avoid watching Speedy Gonzalez cartoons because they're "racially offensive"?
And by the way, I used to think Ganguro only referred to Japanese Girls with well-tanned skin, black and white eyelines, false eyelashes, and bright outfits.

but it also translates directly to blackface, I guess I learned something today, and that doesn't happen often.

Okay, that aside...

If they're re-doing GS, they had BETTER bring back the Pokegear, and maybe have a little more playability to Kanto than "Hey, look! Eight more gyms to beat!", like maybe a "Cinnabar Volcano" dungeon or something, at any rate, they fixed the glitches, so they should re-open the Safari Zone in this one. If they include a Sevii Islands-like place, do something more creative for a name than "One, Two, Three, etc. Island"!, I mean Megaman villains have more creative names than that!
