Hello Im a new member I know it's kind of early for me to post something.
Im also a member at RPG revolution but not a lot of people reply so I was hoping rmxp.org might be more ONLINE ^^

Well im making a pokemon game with RMXP. This is possible with the Pokemon Essentials Kit created by Mark.O
I don't know his full name sorry.
Well im going to tell you what Ive got so far, and a warning in advance im not english so please don't judge me for bad grammar. :tongue:                       
Pokemon Shadow Version:
Storyline:1% :sad:
Pokemon added:100% :lol:
Characters added:1.5%
Maps:1%
Old Graphic pictures being edited (Such as Pokedex, Summary, Bag etc..) 40% :shock:
Legendary Pokemon Stories:1%
As you can see im not very far in the process.. maybe right now you think "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!? HOW DO WE KNOW YOUR NOT USING HACKS TO EDIT AN ORIGINAL POKE GAME?" Well.. Il give you a screenshot of my RMXP howabout that? Please enjoy the Screen shots!

your pokedex and menu are really really ugly. don't use saturated colours like that, they burn the eye and make it tough to pay attention to whatever text is going on.

Look I don't wanna spend a fortune for a good paint program. Either leave comments/suggestions or don't post at all I don't want to be mean but I don't like being critisised.

my suggestion was that you choose your colours better!

you don't need to buy a new paint program, a lot of great spriters here use nothing but ms paint, but you have to choose colours that work together and aren't hideously garish and saturated it's not that hard!

You're overdoing this whole colour thing. Big deal if the colours are so bright, I can read every single word, down to the last letter without trouble. If you weren't so busy complaining about how the colours look, you would see it's easy to read, just like reading a book.

it's not that it's illegible, it's that it's straining to the eye and above all else it's ugly!! I don't really get why you're defending his right to make garish oversaturated windowskins without opposition it's not like I'm flaming him I am telling him this is ugly please choose colours that work together better so as to not make it ugly!

I mean, seriously, if he said: "It would be better if you changed the colours" ok, I would have just sat back, but saying: "The colours are ugly" just doesn't seem right to me.

OK, first things first.
1) that is the default map. You could at least put some effort into the screen you printed ^_^.
2) those are horrible colors. All OTHER pokémon games have washed out/desaturated colors for menus - yours looks horrible in general terms, and even worse as a pokémon game.
3) you're acting like a prick. stop it.

The thing is that it's true. Miek didn't post that to be a douche; he did it to help the OP. Sure, he could've been nicer about it, but it wasn't that harsh, and harshness or lack thereof doesn't invalidate the truth of what he's saying. If you say YOU'RE A DICK SCREW YOU to everyone who's less than supporting of your project and ignore everything they say, you'll never improve.

Seriously, OP, picking colors with lower saturation isn't hard, and it'll look 100x better!
