Pokemon Gold Remake-Yeah another Pokemon game remake...

I know most people here don't really have an appeal for Pokemon games because they don't get finished and they are un-original. However originally this project wasn't really going to be on here and I'm just making it in my spare time for a friend since my main project is Darkness Eternal. I promise you it will be finished but it won't be done for a while and I won't really update this page unless anybody wants me too.

What's this about?

I'm just making a Remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver. The project started because of a request of a friend. It will be basically the same game, although it may take a while before I start the actually gameplay because I don't have battle system that aren't super buggy. So right now it is just maps, and people with events like the game. This will be as authentic as possible, right down to the text.

I only started this a few hours ago and came along not so far. No getting your Pokemon yet, no battle system, and no fancy menu. Right now I'm just concerned about maps and events. The only Events not done in my maps are ELMs event to get your Pokemon and anything involving a battle system.

Also if anybody could, please help me so I can make the text black. It's hard to read...

Yes even with my little progress I do have a demo. Mainly because my friend wanted me to give him a demo of what I did so far.

I dunno my friend is weird. Maybe he's just making me re-create the whole game for a Pokemon game he's making. I dunno though and I don't really care, it's fun to make Pokemon maps.

EDIT: Or maybe he wants to play it with enhanced graphics?

WHY would you waste the time on this? Seriously? I mean, I'm not putting down your effort, since I imagine it took awhile, but WHY!? You wanna play a more updated Pokemon Gold, play Ruby, or Sapphire, or Emerald ffs. They're all the same damn thing!!!

Advantages when you are remaking the same old game is the mapping and the story... And the sprites... That saves a little more time but totally not recommended for remaking...

Basically, you've just shown the mapping and dialogues... How about the menu and battle system? (sorry but am too lazy to try out the demo... )

Yeah as I said I don't have a menu or battle system yet. Right now I'm concerned about maps and all that until I can find a good battle/menu system.

Yeah basically, oh and about the name. The reason it says Team Aqua is because I was originally supposed to make an original story for this but my friend changed his mind. The real name should be Sparkling Silver and Glowing Gold.

Also can anybody tell me how to get the text black?

To be honest this project looks very half hearted one because it's a remake... just a remake and nothing but a remake so there's no excitement to look forward to like extra changes quests or a new ending, I suggest that you add something ANYTHINg that is different because otherwise only your friend will play this heck maybe even he won't finish it.

Well I'm probally going to add a bunch of side quests and stuff like that just the main story and such are going to be the same.

Also I'm thinking about also adding RS pokemon to it.

Adding more and more would probably be a nice improvement....why doesn't your friend just play leaf green on gba? Adding more quests characters, fights and pokemon would probably be a good reason not to just play leaf green.

Ive tried out the demo and it looked cool.. But the game started in the girl's house instead of Hiro's.. And i think the only event that is finished is the old man in the Cherrygrove city...

But nice start!

Oh I must of forgot to put the starting point back when testing. As for the old man being the only event finished, that's because that demo is kind of old. Now I have MR.POKèMON done along with getting your POKèMON fighting your rival(although no CBS yet) and naming your rival. I haven't done the intro yet.

This may be another pokemon game but this looks OK. Though I saw better pokemon projects like ME's game, that pokemon online one made with netplay, i saw it on a forum it looked l33t xD.

wtf why would you want to recreate Gold/Silver dude thats copywriting off of Gamefreak and Nintendo personally i hate gamme based off real games i mean think about it would you rather play a game licensed and created by a team of over 100 people or play a game that has the same properties of the first game made my 1 person on their PC. But anyways enough critism but id like to see some screens of how the battle system would work and you have some decent graphics for maps and stuff

awesome pokémon gold is a fun game lol There are some odd problems that I encountered though obviously. Like in the last map when I went into the pokemon center I went through the computer and could walk in the blackness.
