Pokemon.com has revealed the english name of the Diamond and Pearl professor, Professor Rowan (originally Professor Nanakamado), and the starter town, Twinleaf Town (Futaba Town). Manaphy’s ability has also been officially named Hydration (Moist Body), which allows it to heal itself in the rain, and its unique move, Heart Swamp, remains the same as the Japanese name.

Diaruga - Time Ruling Pokemon, Parukia - Space-Ruling Pokemon
Now discuss...

I like the perspective of the maps. I'm interested in this. Can't wait until it releases.

Best thing about Pokemon games is that they are so simple you can play through them in Japanese ;)

Okay, I have a few things to say. First, I just want to say that those screenshots look awesome! I just recently bought a Nintendo DS Lite as some of you may already know. (If you read my topic.) Part of me buying that was because of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl's upcoming release. However, I'm not to sure if the game will live up to the name of Pokémon. If you don't understand what I mean, let me explain. Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow were just awesome, along with Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions. However, I think that the name of Pokémon died after Crystal's release on the Gameboy Color. (Game wise, I think it died.) I know some of you will/will not agree with me, but that's just what I think. I didn't really enjoy playing Ruby/Saphire/Emerald at all... They kind of ran out of names for the Pokémon, and the gameplay wasn't the same as the old games. I hope that these two new releases will be as good as the old Pokémon games, and bring back it's name. But again, that's just my opinion. :)

I'm kind of pissed that they didn't revamp the graphics. I know it's nothing much, however, The DS could probably handle the graphics from Pokemon Stadium(some of the best graphics on the 64). I really don't like the "hear a little hiss then see enemy shake" animations. Really makes the battles look uninteresting(although the battle system itself is top notch).

Mega Flare

Awesome Bro

Can't wait for this game to come out! It most likly be here mid 2007, so by then the DS should be cheaper to buy(hopely 99.99) And i like that i can trade with Fire red, So i can have a Charizard

What interests me the most is the WiFi feature, I like the idea of being able to battle and trade with people online =P

I love how they changed the graphic to the 3/4 Bird's Eye, but keeping the LG/FR/R/S/E graphic style, mainly LG/FR though, I believe. I also like how they are distinctifying the differences between the male and female, but the "red Scyther", as I call it becuase I can't think of it's name, makes me laugh, because the crotch is bigger on the female, than the male.

putting my two cents in these features...
They are set in a region different to Kanto, Johto & Hoenn but contains old Pokémon aswell as the new ones and is called Shinou. In which you start in Futaba Town. The Professor is called Nanakamado
Pretty much obligatory in any new generation...and why does the name Futaba remind me of 4chan?

You are capable of transferring your hard trained Pokémon from Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed & LeafGreen to these games after certain criterea have been met in Diamond & Pearl
YES. THANK YOU. The biggest thing about Ru/Sa that pissed me off was the inability to trade pokemon from previous generations.

There will be many new Pokémon including new Pre-evolutions and Evolutions of Old Pokémon. Currently 5 are known
You know, I'm thinking the new pokemon thing is getting kinda stale. Shoot me for this if you want, but you remember Ru/Sa, right? While there were a few new pokemon that were cool, most of them just seemed...bland.

DP will use the DS's Wireless Capabilities and allow for up to 16 Players to be linked at once in a Union Room style situation
That sounds all well and good, but how about battles and tournaments over wi-fi? Not all of us live in New York City.

There will be no new Pokémon types but new type combinations such as Steel/Fighting
Didn't irk me with advance gen, doesn't irk me now.

Day/Night Feature makes a welcome return
...you know, why the hell didn't the advance gen use this feature?

The Pokédex now features a weight comparison feature. The height and weight comparisons allow you to put your own height and weight in and compare with the Pokémon
Kind of a useless feature, but fun nonetheless, I suppose.

The Watch acts as a PokéNav called Pokétchi and has over 20 Features: Time Management, Monitoring of Pokémon in the Breeding Center, Type Chart and many more
Mostly a utility thing, huh? Well, I did find the pokegear to be handy.

Voice Chat over Nintendo WiFi Connection
Trainer A: JA I AM MADE OF DUR BUTTER UND YOU ARE WORTH 2K MONIES
Trainer B: EAT COMMUNISM!

Linkable with Pokémon Battle Revolution
I'm assuming this is Wii's Pokemon Stadium?

The Pokémon Sprites vary between Male & Female Pokémon. Different patterns are on the different genders aswell as bigger or smaller features or even missing features. For example Wooper's Antenna is smaller on the female version as seen below.
Cool, actual differences between the sexes.

Could this actually surpass G/S/C in awesomeness?

I've known about just about all of these for a while- It's one of the few games I actually keep up-to-date on.

Day/Night Feature makes a welcome return
...you know, why the hell didn't the advance gen use this feature?

Actually, I think it's because Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald focused so much more on the weather effects.

Yeah, the new Pokemon generation will be my only reason for buying a DS, but I'll do it. It's going to be a Lite, though.

There's more than Pokémon to the DS, you know.

As a Nintendo fanboy, I certainly do. But most of it I don't feel like it's worth getting the system for. Once I get the DS for Pokemon, I'll probably be getting other things for it as well.

I will always love the first generation of Poke'mon (even yellow; it was the only version that I had every Poke'mon with) because of its sheer genius and I will always respect the second generation because it added a lot of new features. Once it got to the advanced generation I quit playing. There's just too many Poke'mon and the newer ones aren't nearly as original as the older ones.

Diamond and Pearl look like they have some cool features (Wi-fi battles would be a dream come true!) but I just can't stand the thought of 100 more crappy Poke'mon. I really wish they had waited to remake Red and Green.:(

Mega Flare

Awesome Bro

oh you know at least 95% of the new pokemon are going to suck. Im just woundering what the starting pokemon are going to look like? and i hope it lets us go to the other regions. I would love to beable to gain badges from, joto, kanto and Herion

Eh, it seems the only good Pokemon they made in R/S/E were the legendaries, the trio, and a few normals...Why don't they only make legendaries/trios from now on? That'd be better...Well they'd probably mess that up too. :/

And, I heard this somewhere, but is it possible to trade Pokemon from a GBA game in the DS's gba cartridge slot to a DS game in the DS slot? I wasn't sure, since they'd have to have both games on, but maybe they have a way...

DS cart can read data from GBA cartidges in the GBA slot of a DS.

Also, Gold and Silver were the best Pokemon games. If this game can't surpass those, I'm not gonna even think of buying any of them.
