Playstation Store

My old ps1 disks are all scratched or the center ring is so worn that I have to put tape in it. Not to mention those brittle cases they came in are all cracked and falling apart. I decided to go online to the Playstation store and download digital versions of my favorite games while I can still find them.
I've only downloaded Demos before. Has anyone bought a PSone Classic from the online store before? Do they use the memory card slots or are the saves handled differently? Just wondering if I can use my old saves.
I'm downloading Final Fantasy VIII right now, but at this rate it won't finish downloading until tonight.

Well, same as playing a PS2 game on the PS3, it creates a virtual memory card and saves into that, however, you can use a PS2 memory card to play or copy your savefiles over... I can only assume the same would work with PS1 games too... you'll have to just wait and see...

Also, when it comes to multi-disc games, you have to press the ps button and "switch discs" when a change disc screen appears.

So a roughly 2000mb file took 23 hours to download on my ps3. It was still downloading when I got home from work today. I'm going to have to follow some online guides to make the wireless work faster.

All my saves still work. Woohoo!
Neat, they even include the game manual.
I don't know if I can throw the old disks away. I mean I can't play them but I like seeing them on the shelf.

The Playstation cases are pretty terrible. Even worse when it's magically every slot of Final Fantasy VII which has broken leaving you needing either four cases or just shoving them wherever.
