Well actually, ePSXe 1.5.2 runs FFIX better than the latest version, so if you havent already, maybe you should think about trying it?

I use both 1.5.2 and 1.7.0, since some games aren't as reliable with the newer version for some reason o.O

are you sure you have the special game fix options checked? If you're using pete's video/audio plugins, check the configure options for them, and make sure the special game fixes are checked off for them.
