It's safe to say we've all heard about this by now. Jack Sparrow will return in 2011 along with some new faces such as Redbeard and Angelica. Old characters are mostly unconfirmed returns, but it has been confirmed that Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan will not return (But the info I read didn't say Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly weren't returning)

Anyone else hyped about this?

Seriously, it is the only film I have ever considered walking out of.

It was absolutely abyssmal.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Maybe it's because I'm out of the loop or something but I thought Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the best films Johnny Depp played in. I'd like to see it and I'm not afraid to say so. It's not like it's some shitty chick flick like Twilight saga or something, at least it's interesting to watch.

OH RIGHT! That's why I hate Naruto and Bleach and I also hate other movies like twilight and harry potter even though I've never seen them. Actually I only hate Harry Potter because I had some really bad nerdy harry potter glasses in school and people used to say. "HEY, you look like Harry Potter" I didn't really take it as a compliment and I never wanted my real me to be a Harry Potter cosplay. As for Naruto, I did give it a chance but found none to interesting. Twilight, isn't that just for chicks? Bleach, never gave that a chance.

I liked parts of 1 and 2 but 3 was pretty eh and Will/Elizabeth were absolutely terrible. Should be a much better movie with them gone. More goofy, slapstick piratey adventure and less "ahah! I betrayed you!" "no you see, it was actually I that betrayed you because blahblahblah stupid fucking disjointed story"

Pirates of the Caribbean, yes. Brilliant film.

Pirates of the C II was unwatchable.

One was alright. Two and three were a waste of time. Davey Jones was a wasted villain. The series is a great example of an over-ambitious writer and director. They tried to do way too much plot-wise, and ended up with half-assed drama and way too many attempts at witty one liners. Even the first one suffered from this a bit, albeit it was structurally sound in the end. Just because something is popular does not mean people hate it to seem cool. Many people just have higher standards of entertainment. I could make the same claim at you both for not liking Twilight, which is definitely more popular.

I for one, do not enjoy Harry Potter in book or movie form. Both I find to be incredibly boring as it is not of my proffered genre. I find Johnny Depp's acting to be average. The only performance of his I can honestly say I have enjoyed was Willy Wanka in the Chocolate Factory, and I disliked that movie. Even then, he just rehashed a performance of a character he has done before. Again, different people, different standards. It is an opinion.

But as for Charlie and the Chocolate factory, it sucked balls. The original was so much better.

Johnny Depp is a pretty overrated actor, I agree. His only "stand-out" movies for me are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow, and, uh... hm. I still haven't seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but there's no way he can top Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka.

also i don't usually deal in absolutes but Barbossa(? geoffrey rush's character) is the best damn character in the series and if you don't agree you are wrong :shades:

also fuck no DO NOT WANT POC 2 and 3 were terrible terrible films, only the first one was awesome

and yeah Depp is overrated i TOTALLY agree with Moe. Fear Vegas etc and Edward Scizz were fantastic, also I liked him in Gilbert Grape

he was great in POC, but he seemed like the only thing besides Geoffry Rush keeping the film alive.

I actually liked Charlie and Sweeney.
