Pirata Free MMORPG [Download 0.0.4 now available]

yeah there is currently pvp, i will design ship battles when the main Pirata island is complete and there is currently a trading system, but all of the items are not available yet seeing as Pirata is such a new game.
 
Because I really don't like it if the game is too linear, maybe complete quests will unlock more places, but we must be able to revisit any area we like at any time.
 
the game is not linear at all, the tutorial at the beginning is linear but that is to be expected
The island of pirata is loosely based on the world map of zelda: link's awakening.

I also may want to point out that unlike a previous statement made, Pirata does have its own VPS server that i pay for hosted by arenahosts
 
Also, excuse me for repeating, but I really need to emphasize this, and now I'm putting a better reason to this:

Convert your game to Ruby or Gosu.

Why?
Simple. RMVX games require ALOT of RAM for NO GOOD REASON. Even a 1GB ram can LAG when there is too much open space.
Ruby is the only way I know that might be able to destroy this problem.

Feel free to disregard this if you disagree.
 
I might end up switching, there's a program being made that replicates rmvx made entirely from ruby so i might check it out.

Learn Ruby and convert your RGSS codes to Ruby.

Should be no problem, then you can sort out the lag.

Duh, RGSS(Ruby Game Scripting System) is Ruby... And I found that Vx is running just fine. I don't why many people said it got problems and such. And Tam, yeah, it will not update the game if the window is unfocused. Isn't XP is the same?

BTW, the traps and the puzzles looks great. I can't wait for it to be released. :thumb:
 
You mean the last boulder in the dungeon?
I had the bug that after I was hit once the boulder didnt appear a second time but the way how it should be done is just running in forward. You are fast enough to go into the gap before the boulder hits you.

RGSS is not ruby, RGSS is MODIFICATION of Ruby, so its easy to convert, yet very effecient.

VX dosen't run find on my 800 MB computer, you must have a 2 GB one, WHICH IS A RIDICULOUS REQUIREMENT FOR A SIMPLE 2D GAME.
