PC Problem Assist Needed

A friend of mine had to reinstall MS Windows but his PC was giving some weird errors on booting, so he moved the HD to other PC and installed Windows there and then moved the HD back to the other PC. Problem is, now the PC doesn't boot. He turns it on and PC doesn't do anything not even the POST beeps, the screen shows black and is in the same state as if the PC was shut off (orange/red light).
Any ideas?

-Thanks

Okay, number 1: why would anyone even THINK to move the harddrive over to a completely different machine with different innards with different DLL files and expect it to work when they put it back in the previous machine...

Number 2: Considering the harddrive itself obviously works, there's probably something else wrong with the other parts. Though considering you have no interface whatsoever, I don't know what you could possibly do, other than pick a part (which, considering it doesn't even beep at you, I couldn't even begin to guess where to start...), replace it, and hope it turns on.

Moving the harddrive would have no effect, Atemu. Long before external drives, moving HDDs around was commonplace. The only problem would come from drivers being for different hardware, which is easily overcome by booting to a DOS prompt or a Windows Safe-Mode environment.

Did you hook the Hard Drive up properly? Set it as a master drive, put it in the proper IDE sequence, etc? Check that your power supply didn't disconnect, as well.

As Prexus mentioned, it won't start, because the hardware drivers aren't for the same hardware on your computer. It would work if your friend had the same hardware. Try exchanging the parts or try a new mainboard.

If the computer turns on, but doesnt do ANYTHING, it is a CPU or Mobo problem.

If it cant load windows, it is because the the PC it was installed on is to different from the one you are using, it is apart of M$'s anti-piracy scheme, it prevents people from making ghost images and just posting them on usenet or a tracker.
