Painted 3D models + 3D -> 2D environments

I wanted to try redoing it so I can make the head turn all the way to full 3/4 perspective, so I'm working on that now. Manga Studio has awesome and cool watercolor brushes. Also wonderful line art tools, but I couldn't be bothered inking this.

Reference sketch for view. I traced a model for both face positions to make sure the features lined up exactly correctly. I have no idea what I'm doing, but we'll see how it goes?!

Another background.

You'll notice the reflections are better than in the last one. I did them differently. I probably should revisit the last one at some point.

Edit: Changed the floor color.

I think I liked the red floor more than the yellow one. Other than that, it looks great. I've been replaying FFIX and I really do miss the pre-rendered backgrounds, and I know that this will look great.

Thanks! I hope so. I've done the easiest ones first. I'm going to need to figure out a good workflow for exteriors in particular, and some of the models are going to be hard to source.

Well, that was the original goal, but I have to render so many different passes and do so much post-processing that it ends up being quite a lot of work. It certainly would be a lot easier than doing one from scratch, though.
