Overhead Shadow Effect

Recently played "A Link to the Past" and got the Master Sword
Then the fog disappears and reveals the light breaking through the trees and onto the ground
I'd offer an image but I can't come across any right now.. (I'll try later)
It's a really nice effect that would be very much appreciated
