over pass

I have created a over pass in my game seen in this pic, I wanna be able to walk over it and under it, so far i can walk under it but when i try to walk over it, i end up walking behind it.

Im guessing i gotta use the options Passage, Priority or something but not sure how to set it up

I couldn't help you do it, but I suppose if there is a VX script like what you want. There has to be a way to do it using XP. I don't know if you can convert scripts, but that's your best bet to use a script. Or if people won't be walking on it at the same time, you could use events, and switches. If you know someone who could convert it, the site is called First Seed material, and here's the link: http://www.tekepon.net/fsm/modules/imgb ... ic_id=1012 (Just in case, you want to see what I'm talking about.)

this is easy. This can be solved with events. Heres what you do:

1. Make the bridge into an event

2. Create an event on top of the stairs ramp, ect. Make a switch turn on when the player touches it.

3. Create an event at the bottom of the stairs ramp, ect. Make the switch turn off when the player touches it.

4. Using the events that create the bridge, make it when Switch _____ is on, the player is over the bridge, and when switch __________ is off, the player is below the bridge. :)

Well coolioman

I was able to do what u said thanks for that info. I made it like this

It seems that i need to have two copies of the tile set of the bridge on my master tileset

1 tile set of the bridge being priority +4 or w/e

and 1 set of the bridge being normal so i can walk over it

but your idea did work, i just gotta add the bridge again to my master tile set

anyways thank you both for replying to my message

You shouldnt have to do that.

If the event for the bridge parts are two pages (one for player on top and one for below).
Then just make it that the priority is normal so the player is on top,
And when the player has to be below just click the 'Always on Top' click box for that page of the event.

Ahh i see, so u don't need 2 of the same tile, also i had to check through box so i can walk under the bridge since i have priority to normal thanks for your feed back i was doing a extra step i guess

thanks again for your help

also i think its because i made the bridge into a event but i have this black bar showing now.

not a big deal kinda looks like a shadow under the bridge but if its fixs able please let me know

Black bar i fixed i had to fix the first layer

I found a small glitch in my over pass

when i go under the over pass i can turn ether left or right and walk on top instead of having to go up the stairs

how do i add collision so i have to go up stairs

heres a pic heading under the overpass

and heres a pic of my hero turning right and ending up ontop of the over pass

hope you understand my problem. please help thanks

Try this:

First make one of the white tiles in your tileset impassable and put it in layer three in the spot where the player is standing in your second pic as an event.
Make a switch that turns on when your player steps on the tile to the left of the impassable one.
The switch would make it passable again.
Then make another event to the left of it that turns the switch off so it is impassable.

Did that make sense?
