Opinion on a character design [Act 2!]

Well a while ago on this forum I posted some art for my character designs....
Lets just say, things didn't go so well.

Long story short, I've been practacing and here are the results.

I'd love to hear opinions on this character seeing as while I really like this drawing I think improvements can always be made in art. Thanks :ash:

I like the overall "punk" attitude being given off.

I'm thinking that the lack of shading and color (such as hair tips) was done on purpose so I won't comment on that.

What you should edit though, is to give a better impression of whether this character is male or female. At first I thought it was female but the breasts aren't very well outlined and the face can go both ways... along with the hair.

Just my 2cents :thumb:

Cool, thanks!

I have a tendency to draw my male characters rather... feminine.

So yes, He's a boy.

I didn't use shading because I haven't yet gotten use to it. For now I'll simply try to find ways to avoid it.

If it's a boy you may want to not give him boobs. I know it's just exaggeration of the shape of the chest but it's a bit much and combined with a small waist and bigger hips he does look quite girly. Also it looks like you've given him a cameltoe.

The hair is pretty bad, it's just one huge hairsplosion. It looks like one of those things in a comic that'd have the word POW in it. Spikey hair's hard to do but remember that you should know what all the spikes are doing where they are. Much as I hate ff7, cloud strife's hair is excellent to use for reference because it's so exaggerated. Google image search 'cloud strife' and look at his hair. You can follow each spike and know where the hair in it came from.

Unless you actually intended for him to be part hedgehog, stuff like that is very important in actually designing a character, you can't work from a vauge image and get consistent results.
