Opening encrypted games

Hey there,
I recently got a new computer and wanted to change one of my old games.
The problem is that I only have the encrypted version left since I deleted the other one thinking that I wouldn't need it anymore.
Is there any way to open it in RPG Maker XP?
I heard of some program which could unencrypt it, but is that legal?
I know that people encrypt their games for a reason, but well... the only thing I want to change is my own game. :/

decrypting your own project is practically legal. I don't remember the EULA exactly but you won't get in any trouble for it, at least. you're in the clear so long as you don't open up someone else's game to steal their stuff and use it yourself.

as for the program, PM vgvgf with your story and he should be able to help you out.
