Online PlayStation 2 Games

I just recently figured out how to connect my slim-line Silver PS2 to the internet. I've got some old games here, like SOCOM: US Navy Seals, and even Madden 09 to play online, but it's not enough. With SOCOM, it seems the only way to win is to be the SEALS, which takes the fun away from having illegal, blackmarket weapons that the terrorists use >:O

And in Madden 09, it seems like I have to find some kind of cheating mechanism to win. Somehow, people run all over me. Some guy even ran over my Giants defense with the fuckin' MIAMI DOLPHINS.

I was wondering, from all you PS2 owners out there who like the multi-player experience, what are the best online games that will satisfy my hunger for online domination? Anything but sports, please.

Well, you have most football games, you have Monster Hunter 1 and 2, Final Fantasy XI for the ps2, although you can't play on a slim, and a couple more.

I highly suggest playing SSX3 or on tour if it has online functions. It's so fun playing against other guys online.

what socom are you playing? get combined assault. NOBODY likes the seals on CA. most of their weapons pale compared to the terrorist counterpart. @__@

and if you're crappy at madden.. well.. that's YOUR problem. dont cheat just because you're poor at the game.

@Zeldrak: Monster Hunter's servers have gone offline, I guess. And does Final Fantasy XI require a monthly fee? I heard that it does.

@Cruelty: I think it's the very first SOCOM. Combined Assault is sweet online, then, I presume? Also, I realized that there is some kind of skill level, and the dude I faced was wayyyyy better than me. I'm only like 5-4 at the moment, but I've found that the Titans have a very beastly defense, as well as a great running game.

yes, it does require a monthly fee. and you needed a Hard drive on your ps2 to play it. Although you can either get the 360 version or the PC version to play now.
