One-Time Events

I'd like to have some small cutscenes, but I don't want them to appear every time I enter a map. For example: to get the first character to join your party, you go into his house, and a small cutscene ensues. However, I don't want the event to run every time I go into the character's house.

How can I stop this?

Behold, a question that has been asked many times. "How do I make my cutscene run only once?"

Put down that Erase Event command-- it's not meant for this. No, now is the time for you to master Self Switches and multiple event pages.

Or, to put it another way, end your cutscene event by turning Self Switch A ON.

Then add another page to the event. And make the condition for this second page, "Self Switch A: ON."

Problem solved.

Unka Josh's explanation might be a little hard to understand if you're new to XP. Basically what you need to do is make your event have 2 pages. create your event on the first page, and at the end, turn self switch A on. on the second page, leave it blank and put the condition of self switch A.
