Ok stupid question about battle events....

To start off, i've like googled/searched through all the tutorials i could find to solve my stupid problem without any luck...so I bring this utterly noob question here :(

So its my first attempt at controlling a battle.
What I want to do is so that when the player engages battle from a regular world event the mob will run before the players have a chance to respond...

Here's what i did
Under troops in battle events
the condition is set as don't run
span: battle

first event: force action: actor 1 guard, actor 2 guard(so that the players wouldn't do anything since i have no idea how to make the mob get a premptive strike.
next event, force action: (1. mob), escape, random

when i click on battle test...my guys don't guard, and the mob doesnt even try to run....what am i doing wrong :( ?

any help, even links to a tutorial i may have missed would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
 
You put the condition as "don't run" so it won't run. Here's what you do:

Condition should be "Turn [ 1 ] + [ 0 ] X
Force Action - Enemy - Escape. - TIMING - Execute Now.
