you cannot be retried for a crime of which you've been aquitted (barring extenuating circumstances, I think.) forget statute of limitations, there's no statute of limitations on murder. he was let off and so couldn't be retried for it, and it was just our luck he eventually did something stupid.
personally, yes, I feel the trial was a little unfair. they charged him with both armed robbery and armed assault despite the fact that every case of armed robbery contains a case of armed assault (and therefore you can't charge someone for both in the same incident,) and that extended his sentence's ballpark time a little. if it were anyone else, I'd be on their side, but the fact is I don't care if the jury had a preexisting bias or anything like that. the man very likely killed his wife, wrote a book (w/aid of a ghost) in which he detailed how the murder played out (albeit in purely hypothetical form, I expect to avoid legal repercussions) and then robbed somebody. it seems like he got cocky with that first victory (and his ensuing evasion of the wrongful death suit his wife's family presented) and decided that he could pretty much do as he wanted. even after the trial, he was only sorry for himself.
I'm not too sure about the "it's barack" thing. for one thing WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ACTING LIKE SIMPLY BEING BLACK MAKES HIM SO FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PRESIDENTS JESUS HE IS MORE THAN A BLACK MAN PAY ATTENTION TO HIS POLITICS INSTEAD OF HIS SKIN JESUS CHRIST. OJ seems to be losing his head a bit, but I think he's still smart enough to avoid making that assumption.
