Didn't Nintendo get sued a number of times recently over a bunch of different things? Microsoft and Sony, too? I wonder if Nintendo is actually stealing their ideas or if this is just a patent troll...

This is kind of stupid...
obviously looking at the Wii-mote you can see the resemblences it holds to the NES controller... Its just a NES merged with a TV remote, lol, plus motion sensing.
The thing they're talking about seems more like a laser pointer or something... That's like the guy who invented the pen trying to sue the guy who came out with the mechanical pencil. They're the same shape, sure, but its obvious they have no relation to each other beyond that...

Information and particulars regarding the Wiimote's design and functionality have existed for almost a year now? (correct me if I'm wrong.) Why has it taken so long for this company to speak up about it?

@ Myonosken : Oh I see. I was talking to some of my freinds that work in a computer store, they said there realy is no difference in the PS3 handset and the PS2 handset just minor things:

> New button added, access to menu (like the Xbox).
And the PS3 is rmple compatible, so you can use your PS2 handset, apart from the fact that the PS3 games won't have the rumble in it.

Anyways, yes it does seem kind of silly that this corporation wants Nintendo to pay them three times a made up sum and take the Wii off the market because they thought about inventing a laser pointer with a button on it a year ago.
