Nintendo Europe Swapping Star Points for Wii Points!

As it says in the title, for European Wii gamers you can now swap those hard earned stars for wii point on the shop channel!
It's on www.nintendo.co.uk
The web pages take ages to load, but this is definately worth it!
(I got 300 Wii points for 1200 stars! This is going to encourage me to use the Nintendo VIP loads more!)

this was already implemented in other countries or what? Is this new to the world?

i don't have a wii, so i'm not familiar with it, but it seems cool. if only M$ would do that with their damn gamerscore. :l

This is new to European Wii owners only :D
They announced it last year but Nintendo have been trying to put it off because it's FREE Wii points.
The original release date for this scheme was in the summer, but it was pushed back due to reluctance.
(I just got another 100 points for 400 points,  can get my first NES game!)
I do mean 1200 stars, they made them expensive.
It's 400 stars for 100 wii points
1200 for 300
etc
etc

Oh hey, I just looked this up on Wikipedia and apparently star points is some bonus thing that you get for purchasing games.

I thought (and I'm sure others thought this too) that you were talking about the stars that you earn in Super Mario Galaxy.
