Fallstel - that is funny. The book list is exactly what I should have used for my brother, as he requested "anything on surviving armageddon/zombies/etc" . My favourite part of christmas is just being with my family. I hope they like their presents. I think turning Christmas into a completely materialistic time ruins it.

I know i'll get what i want because i orderedmost of it myself. It's really just WoW, a couple months subscription, and Family guy Season 5. I just asked for money from most relatives, because FFIII and XII all come out next year and i'm using it and the remains of £300 i won to buy a wii(anything leftover will be spenton either FF.)

As you may have guessed, Xmas is COMPLETELY materialistic for me.

I've been looking into the Wii an awful lot and they are pretty nifty. I definately wouldn't mind getting one myself! The most appealing thing is the fact i can get moderate exercise in the comfort of my own home WHILST enjoying gaming. I think this is the console to turn me back into a nerd =]

I find it a little depressing when families just give their kids money for xmas and tell them to get presents. Isn't the whole point trying to pick out something kinda fun to show you've been thinking about the person? Just giving someone money well before christmas makes it a totally impersonal, entirely "gimme gimme" oriented holiday, in my opinion. I find that sad, and a bit soulless.

I got some excellent presents for my girlfriend and her family; since I know she browses the forums sometimes I will wait until after xmas to post them. As for me, all I seriously want is a nice day, some tasty food, and some time with my girlfriend - and my family but I can't do that this year. I am also very excited to meet my girlfriend's mother this year. If I do get a present, I suppose some warm socks or a few english fantasy novels would be nice.

I do agree, but it just makes life easier for parents who cannot please their teenage sons & daughters as they have no idea what to get them. I know from experience as one christmas i didn't like one gift i recieved. Of course I was overwhelmed with their efforts, but realistically, it was utter crap :P

I'd never say anything, or show that i feel this way, but money is just cool. My mum would never JUST give me money despite how much i beg. There's always a good amount of gifts there come morning
