Need some help with getting my games fixed

WOW, seems like ages since I even came here, much less worked on my rmxp stuff.

but, I can ramble on later <.<

I need some help. Decided that I am going to continue working on my game/demo that I started waaayyy back in 2005/2006 but I loaded up my postality knights rmxp and it doesnt work anymore for some reason (runtime error).

So I did a google, cant find the PK rtp anywhere as of yet so I can work on the games in the mean time, but I am left with one other option, which is what I need help with.

I read on a forum post else where that you can make a postality knights version game compatible with Enterbrain's rmxp by editing some of the games files.

So, what I want to know is what files are these and what/how do I need to edit them.

lmao, well that sucks. oh well <.< should be too hard to recreate just have to pull all the scripts out of my old version, or re-add them from my site (probably best since I included instructions lol)

but thanks anyway lol.
 
As far as I know ( but I could be wrong) you can open projects created with PK with the official version without converting anything.

You should do the switch quickly though, because using PK is illegal and talking about using it is not tolerated. But since you want to switch I guess that this is ok...
 
Yeah, the official version of RMXP can open PK edition projects just fine. You'll just have some issues with your old default scripts, as well as some things like the fact that you can put more in a text box in PK edition than the official version. It's going the other way that creates problems for most people.

well I got it sorted out. I just opened it in PK then copy pasted the maps to the official. then just copy pasted all the system data and exported/imported all the custom resources.

game still works perfectly after some minor adjustments :eek::

I kept getting "Invalid Parameter" error messages when trying to open any of my PK game versions in the official.

I guess it depends on what you've done. I had PK edition years ago, and when I got the official version, I could open my projects with it just fine. I know that some parts of PK edition were edited, and you may have used one of those.
