my very first manga head template

i am doing my very first male manga head template, please tell me what you think so far, ps it is not finished yet lol.
i am doing it for my game as will be making my own resources, i don't really consider myself as a professional just need some tips on how to make my art better, thanks.

Start with picking up a How To Draw book that suits your style preference. Back when I used to draw that stuff I had tons and tons of books. I finally found my niche and was able to adapt the various styles I had learned into my own. Even to this day a lot of manga styles are thrown into my semi-realistic approach to character design.

You're just lacking detail in this image. The proportions are little goofy, but not bad for a first attempt. You just need some inspiration. Don't be afraid to use guidelines for the face right off the bat. Facial proportions are probably one of the toughest things to master when drawing any kind of face.

have you got any good suggestions for books please i really am totally a beginner at this, and normally i am just foremost a good programmer, probably explains why i often struggle in the graphic department, but i figured if i could up my drawing then i might be able to make my own resources

Well first off there has to be a manga you like that has a cool style you'd like to replicate. Start there. Then once you feel confident in your ability to copy you can get How to Draw Manga books at almost any bookstore. They are done mainly by Japanese artists and have the best instructions and most specific topics. It doesn't matter what brand you get so long as you stay away from the American author knock-offs. They always have a stupid Americanized style and are really silly.
