critiques are appreciated!!

GR, you've made so many chibi templates that no matter what, any chibi template that anyone makes is gonna look a bit like one of yours :P

Lion, this is actually pretty cute ^^ Though you should probably make a few shape changes and your shading needs lots of work. But that's okay! I'll walk you through what I think you should do!
We'll start with shape. Your head's shape is pretty good but I would move the eyes down one pixel to make the perspective more apparent (this is more of a styling choice, I think templates look better with lower eyes but it's completely up to you) and the bottom of the head is missing 2 pixels. Moving on to the body; your arms stick out a bit, when you draw arms they should hang down. I think where the legs meet the body is up just a bit too high and the leg have no feet  How will he walk without feet? lol That's about it for the outlines ^_^
Shading! You're making the biggest mistake a pixel artist can possibly make, you're pillow shading! But that's alright, we're gonna fix you and you'll be pixeling the right way in no time ^_^
Basically, pillow shading is shading towards the center, basically just outlining the outlines with shading. What you need to do is take 2 big things into account when you're shading. 1. Light is coming from the upper left, as such the upper left of sprites should be lighter than the rest of it (this very rarely applies to templates though since people aren't shiny). 2. You need to shade in forms, meaning parts that stick out farther are gonna be lighter than parts that are farther back. For instance, you should give a person's shoulders a little shading because people's shoulders are pulled back a bit farther from the chest(unless they're slouching of course) and pecs will get more shading than the lower part of the torso because they stick out farther. I edited your template to show you exactly what I mean, look it over and see where each of my critiques is and what I've meant. Then try and remake it yourself ^_^

Can't wait to see what you come up with! :]
