So I decided to pick up on spriting, but I currently can't do anything without reference. I read tutorials, and through the use of a Ragnarok battler sprite, and some careful work, I did a first pose for a characterset. Then I worked on it and finally got it done after a few hours.
So here it is:

The sprite still has minor edits to be done to it, but considering that it's my first attempt, I thought it came out pretty well actually.
C&C is welcomed and advised. Hope you liked it though. If this goes well, and I get better and quicker at this, I may do various sprites to the Ragnarok battler styles. I know someone else started doing it, and people liked the idea, but she quit. I guess I'll wait and see, but no one get their hopes up high.
As for if anyone wants to use the characterset, feel free to. Just give me credit is all I ask. I'll be opening up a workshop soon hopefully with more charactersets I hope to make, but unless I say I am, I'm not taking requests any time soon I think. Just in case anyone asks.
Keep in mind to download the second image. The first is to just show the battler it was modeled off on all sides.
So I tested it out, and it was quite a feeling to watch my own work roaming around for once. I felt delighted and overjoyed. I deeply encourage others to take up spriting. Despite the hard work and long time put into it, it's well worth it.
New Work
So I made another sprite based off of a put together Ragnarok model. This time, it's a purple haired female assassin:

Needless to say, this one's a little harder to work with...but coming along nicely I think. (I'll finish this one in my free time tomorrow)
Anyways, I'm done now,
