The diamond shape wings are good they could be of use to people.
Unfortunately i wouldn't sugest wings on this character.

Make the wings fleshy coloured if you are to make it realistic
and look at a few animals and more human looking flying creatures for more ideas

Personally, i'd say you should have wings, and then after a few fights the wings should then change into battletorn wings. That would be great for it.
