@Rei
Hey there! My first composition was about 5~6 years ago. :P eventually stopped composing after 2 years but got started again 2 years ago
About the high notes and stuff. Can u point out what songs and what piece?
But for example: the high notes of a violin could be a pain in the ear :P so i slightly decrease the volume and add a reverb filter to smoothen the sound more.
Im not using the reverb effect all the time tho. Only when its needed imo.
About the harmony. Yeah most of it is the harmony and the use of notes. Also known as a chord. In most songs u think u hear for example 1 violin as
a background sound but its 2. :P That makes it more harmonic like u said
And so on. Play with chords and instruments.
And last about the instruments. U might have a good piece of music but with bad or low quality instruments u cant get it as powerful as u want it so
i suggest SF (soundfonts) and a program that can import them. Google it and u can download a lot of good quality sounds. Piano, Harp, Violin, Oboe Guitar etc...
I use FL studio 7 and use edirol orcheastra and soundfonts most of the time.
EDIT: Added 4 new songs!
Kate Theme, Pierce your Enemy, Prairie Field and Village Theme
