My Network Places has disappeared?

So I decided to boot up my old laptop today to try and test out some netplay stuff (no, I'm not making a game, I was just having fun screwing around lol). Well I found out that I can't get on the internet so I went to open My Network Places to try and find out what's going on. It's gone. My Network Places isn't on the desktop, isn't in the start menu, isn't in the control panel, and when I ran a search I didn't even find it on my computer. Does anybody know how I can get it back? I'm using XP Home on a Samsung laptop if that makes a difference.

have you tried:

1. Right Click Window's Taskbar >
2. Click Properties >
3. Click Start Menu tab >
4. Click Start Menu, Click Customize >
5. Click Advanced tab, scroll down "Start Menu Item" tick "My Network Places" >
6. Click OK >
7. Click Apply.

also my network places will only show you drives connected to a home, office, or ftp network you can browse using explorer.

if your internet isnt working, to look at your internet connections go to Network Connections (not my network places) through your control panel.
