Hi guys!

Im composing random rpg music as a hobby. I can slightly read notes, but a good hearing and crazy fantasy is good enough right? :P
Still its a challenge to come up with something good and beautiful piece tho but i like a challenge. :shades:
I hope my songs will fit in a rpg maker XP/VX game.

One of the coolest things is to hear other peoples music! It gives u inspiration to come up with something :D
U can use any of my songs. Only thing needed is credit. :shades:

If u got midis i would gladly make mp3 formats of it and give it a Setsu touch to it :D

damn right!

Your pieces are very interesting, because they all have a unique approach to them, have a very solid rhythm and well-structured phases. A tale of sorrow and happiness is so good it should be in a commercial game, like, right now.

Glad to see you here, Setsu! I listened to a tale of sorrow and happiness and its very well put together. The opening was very well devised, as was the continuous melody stream. My only problem is that it sounds too much of the same; Id perhaps think a counter melody would be cool to input? But besides that its very well mixed, except for the percussion which is a tad soft imo. The oboe sf kind of favors the violin one too, which makes it sort of a more full same sound (idk if thats good or bad, thats up to you to decide, i like it)

But yeah, good stuff, glad to see more musicians around.

yeah after listening a tale of sorrow and happiness percussion might be a tad soft tho and experimenting with that song doesnt hurt right?
for now ill leave it as it is ;) but yeah glad u liked it :D

laterrrssssss

i only listen to ''a tale of....'' awesome man... the orch was good, they sound nice.. also a great composition, the only major drawback is the chord was too repetitive, and (IMO) they should've gone to another chord instead goin to the same chord over and over again.. but anyway great music :)

I listened to "A tale of sorrow and happiness", "Green Jungle", and "Seaside Town".

Sorrow and Happiness is pretty nice. I was wary to listen to your music at first after reading the "good hearing and crazy fantasy is good enough right?" comment but after listening to this song, I can see your inherent musical sense greatly compensates lack of theory know-how. I want to agree with one of the above posters- in saying the form was good. As far as it being repetitive, I'd have to completely disagree...we're technically listening to all of your music out of context since it ideally would be background in a video game...it'd be background behind sound fx and voice overs....the end all combination would be far from repetitive, I think. Just my opinion anyways...

Green jungle was decent. When I got to this one I realized the number of sounds you have access to might be fairly small. I still thought this piece worked though. I really would like to hear some congo drums though, lol....I kept waiting for them and they never came, still good work though.

Seaside town was cool as well. Very functional.

Good stuff...you should check out some of work if you get a chance... viewtopic.php?p=703401#p703401
