My music, feel free to use it [Updated 04/09/2009]

okay, here i gots it!
My granma just came down and prompted me to make this ghastly music quieter...
I guess it fulfilled its job with that, the ghastly tune called affe2^^

I don't know if I've copied some phrases from somewhere cause some passages sound really familiar^^

Caldaron: This sounds like dark gothic music, I don't know much about this style but maybe you can work more on a defined melody to work togheter with the guitar arppegio.

Although is a good first step. Keep working hard.

Phew this' been much work though, i guess i keep to the scripting, compared to the musicians here it isn't worth the afford, but jingling on the guitar is fun anyway, got to get some lessons and of course my own guitar (don't have any here^^)

even with soundfonts, you still made some great sounds <3

you can really hear the difference between them, and the higher quality of your latest composition.

btw, either there are very wide time-spans between your songs, of you just picked a good one from each of the past few years? i suspect the latter. :p

btwbtw, mr caldaron, it'd be preferred if you'd start a thread to post your tracks in, that way you're not only posting them in daryus' thread, and you could get better feedback without distracting from daryus' work! :}

I'm going to type my thoughts as I listen to each one.

Wow. Soundfont technology has advanced significantly since the last time I've looked into this stuff. Good instrumentation in Bells of Freedom. I've noticed a few awkward soundfont issues that don't seem natural such as attacks and releases in select instrumentals, but being an unseasoned user of mp3 programs I can't assume whether some of that is under your control or not. This piece definately tells a riveting story; maybe a few too many ups and downs my tastes. This would make a good opener to an epic box office smash hit film for sure. :)

Ah, more epic music. The beginning of Fight For Hope echoes the same idea as the previous piece with its percussive winds, but has a lovely piano interlude later in the piece. The Adagio portion of the piece started to have a sense of dragging along and came to an iffy conclusion which I think could have been better. IMO a cliffhanger chord at the end would do it right!

These reviews are kind of lengthly so I will hurry along...

2 minutes and 30 seconds into Forgotten Love made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end; fantastic.
Orchestral settings seem to be your thing, but I would love to hear a concert band or wind ensemble arrangement from you! It seems a lot of composers in gaming communities rely on the beauty of strings to make their music great, and I would like to hear something with different texture from an excellent musician such as yourself! :)

I love the melody of Extraña Melancolía! Great ideas going on here. Great lead-in towards the ending. This is definitely my favorite. I think I'll import it to my iPod!

King Dragon doesn't necessarily remind me of Dragons. Different genre, yes, but not as exceptional as the others. The snare is more annoying than awesome, and I bet it's hard to pull off a good guitar solo with soundfonts.. Try to find someone who can shred in real life and record em. :)

Good stuff bro.

Thanks for listen guys and Nin thanks for your detailed review, is really appreciated. Glad you like my music :)

@Cruelty, I don't make music frequently, only 2 or 3 by year. :P

Thanks for all, happy new year!! :cheers:

Daryus, if only you did make music regularly! Forget your day job/education! You should be a professional RPG music composer! My fav's definitely Bells of Freedom, though I think the title's a bit odd... :smile:

Anyways, please keep working! And I challenge you to do something that we could actually match in our RPG's. Like something not so completely "OMG" epic awesome fandabidose amazing... :lol:

Amos36 thanks for your support :D

I'm currently working in a new piano based piece, so can be used in RPGs.

Thanks for listen guys!

Thanks for listen to my music and for your support guys, this make me really happy.

See you soon

Your music is awesome, especially for not doing it professionally. I'm just curious what music program you use, and where can I get it (if you know the general cost, that'd be nice too). Keep making music, unless you get tired of compliments. :P

Daryus, you spoke of a "new piano-based piece? What will this be like? As in what kind of theme will it be? Map piece? Scene piece? Battle theme?

Really interested! :smile:
