I'm going to type my thoughts as I listen to each one.
Wow. Soundfont technology has advanced significantly since the last time I've looked into this stuff. Good instrumentation in Bells of Freedom. I've noticed a few awkward soundfont issues that don't seem natural such as attacks and releases in select instrumentals, but being an unseasoned user of mp3 programs I can't assume whether some of that is under your control or not. This piece definately tells a riveting story; maybe a few too many ups and downs my tastes. This would make a good opener to an epic box office smash hit film for sure.
Ah, more epic music. The beginning of Fight For Hope echoes the same idea as the previous piece with its percussive winds, but has a lovely piano interlude later in the piece. The Adagio portion of the piece started to have a sense of dragging along and came to an iffy conclusion which I think could have been better. IMO a cliffhanger chord at the end would do it right!
These reviews are kind of lengthly so I will hurry along...
2 minutes and 30 seconds into Forgotten Love made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end; fantastic.
Orchestral settings seem to be your thing, but I would love to hear a concert band or wind ensemble arrangement from you! It seems a lot of composers in gaming communities rely on the beauty of strings to make their music great, and I would like to hear something with different texture from an excellent musician such as yourself!
I love the melody of Extraña MelancolÃÂa! Great ideas going on here. Great lead-in towards the ending. This is definitely my favorite. I think I'll import it to my iPod!
King Dragon doesn't necessarily remind me of Dragons. Different genre, yes, but not as exceptional as the others. The snare is more annoying than awesome, and I bet it's hard to pull off a good guitar solo with soundfonts.. Try to find someone who can shred in real life and record em.
Good stuff bro.
