My half-kaizer peeps!!

Hey there guys ^^

Well for the pixel academy I had to do the linework and then shading of clothes on a characterset front pose (I chose half-kaiser) and I was surprised with how easy and enjoyable i found it, and was thinking of using custom graphics in a game. By the time i got to the stage of making graphics that i actually used they'd probably be a lot better, but. Do you think people like this (or hopefully a bit better) would be good enough for a game? (of course i would custom the tilesets as well)
Here are the people I made (no hair yet, =p):

What do you guys think?

The woman's pretty good. I'd recommend darkening the palette you used for the man's shirt, though - at 100% it's hard to see detail.

With my somewhat impaired vision I can barely see any shading at all. Also, there's no curvature or definition in the shoes. but for a filled outline, I'd say you've got it. Keep working on the shading, though :')

Are there any other problems, besides the palettes? I will reupload when i redo the shading with better colours. Speaking of which, do you guys know any good sites for palettes?

:)
Not to shabby.
The thing that most spriters seem to have issues with, especially with Showkaizers template, is they color the template instead of dressing it. The template itself is only there as a general guideline. Think outside the box. Clothing hangs off our bodies. And so, clothing should also do so on the template. As well, create a color pallete with at least four colors. Tana has gone to the trouble of making fantastic spriting tutorials on this site, check them out.

Also, keep in mind, perspective. RMXP is meant to have a view slightly from above. Not sure what the technical term is, but whatever.

And since explaining is difficult for me, I find an example can be worth a thousand words. I tweaked your originals a little, spot the differences?

The next step from there would be shading.

Heres a link to a few video tut's that Tana did. Great stuff.
