my first ever attempt at 3d modeling.

I know its not great but tell me where im going wrong please :D

This is a book im working on. it has no textures just a normal map. the book at the bottom is 20,000 polys compared to the book at the top with just 6 faces.

This is a slightly higher poly book still under 100 polys using the normal map from the high poly version with a custom texture.

The thing that "STOOD" out most is the jaw. Huge, huge compared to the concept. If you're looking for the anime look, I guess you'd have to go and make the face much smoother than it currently is. Afterwards I suppose you should work on the dreads. Otherwise, smashing job my man! It looks incredible.
 
thanks. im going to render him again with a bold head and put the dreads in later in 3dsmax so i can animate them better. also the concept is anime but we are looking for a strange style that looks real at the same time not like on earth. thats why i did the jaw like that

This is pretty awesome, Though the only thing I could say is that his nose is a bit too flat, but other then that it's a much better improvement.

may I ask what program your using?
