My dark-glassy Windowskin

hey, this is my first skin, i used to just write for people, but im getting into spriting and things like that. i decided to make a windowskin, so..here is sample pics. the first one is just the items menu, the second is the actual windowskin..also, feel free to edit,re-use, and whatever, no credits. criticism welcome.

Well, I can see what you're trying to do here, but I'm afraid to say this needs work. It looks like what you've done is applied a photoshop filter (plastic wrap?) to the image and left it at that, and it just ended up looking messy. The problem is that the effects of that filter flow over from each component into the adjacent components. For example, the selection box is messed up on the bottom edge, because the huge arrow just below it is distorting everything. These components have to be made in isolation of each other. They can't spill over from their set areas at all.

Also, for the background you've actually applied a slight border -- there's a very clear white edge along the right of it. This is not attractive when its stretched out and distorted in game. Keep borders where they belong.
